FAQs for Travellers
Start by searching for a clinic. On the platform or app you can search by country and city and use our filters to narrow down by treatment type (HD, HDF, home or premium dialysis), dates and other preferences, so you find the clinic that fits your trip.
From there it's three simple steps: choose your clinic, treatment type and dates; add your personal details; and upload the required medical documents. The clinic then reviews your request and confirms, and clinics reply within about 72 hours on average.
Start browsing at renaltraveller.com/en/clinic-destinations.
We have verified partner clinics across many countries and we're always adding more. You can see the full, up-to-date list on our clinic destinations page.
If your destination isn't listed yet, our support team can still help you arrange dialysis off-platform (see the fees question below).
Once you book through us, our customer support team is with you throughout your whole journey, not just at checkout, and that ongoing support is one of the biggest advantages of booking on the platform rather than arranging everything alone.
For urgent or last-minute needs, we'll do everything we can to help you find an available clinic, though please keep in mind that last-minute dialysis availability can't always be guaranteed, as it depends on the clinics' open slots. The earlier you reach out, the better we can help.
For any urgent situation, contact us right away at bookings@renaltraveller.com or via the Contact page.

Business hours: 9:00 to 17:00 CET, Monday to Friday.
Clinics typically ask for a recent set of documents so they can accept you safely: recent serology results (HIV, HBsAg, HCV), a recent CBC (blood count), your medications list, a medical summary from your nephrologist or clinic, your dialysis prescription, and your most recent flow sheets. Some clinics may also ask you to complete their own form.
Your home clinic can usually print all of this for you before you travel, and you upload it securely in the app. See more in our dialysis travel resources.
The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) is a free card that gives residents of EU/EEA countries and Switzerland access to medically necessary state healthcare, including dialysis, when travelling within Europe, under the same conditions as local residents.
How it works with us: the EHIC is only valid in Europe, and acceptance depends on each clinic's policy, so first check the clinic's profile to see whether it accepts the EHIC. If it does, simply bring your physical card to your appointment and your dialysis session is covered, with no payment needed.
If a clinic doesn't accept it, or you're travelling outside Europe, you'll pay the clinic directly, and we recommend checking with your own health insurer about reimbursement after you provide the clinic's invoice. (UK residents use the GHIC, the Global Health Insurance Card, which works the same way within the EU.)
